Decisions based on data: Xingtai Steel wove a measuring net
In recent years, according to the requirement of inspecting the management and pluging the loopholes, Xingtai Steel places equal emphasis on management and technology and improve the level of meticulous metrological management to promote production management, reduce consumption and improve product quality. Through our efforts, Xingtai Steel achieves the unified management of more than 30,000 measuring equipment, weaving a tight "measuring net". For more than 5 consecutive years, no objection has been achieved in the measurement of incoming and outgoing materials.
Institutional construction
As early as 2005, our company established an organizational structure covering all secondary units with the chief engineer as the managers’ representative, clarifying the responsibilities of the general manager, measurement manager's representative, functional departments and production units, as well as the responsibilities of measurement personnel at different levels in each unit, which provides organizational guarantee for the effective operation of the measurement management system. Up to now, we have established 21 management systems, written 54 self-calibration specifications and 49 high measurement process specifications to provide a basis for the system operation. Moreover, we have set up 11 management performance indicators, including measuring equipment management, traceability management, measurement process management, the equipment and management of energy measuring instruments, customer satisfaction management and other managements to ensure the efficient operation of the measurement system. We have set long-term goals and annual goals for three years, making summaries, adjustments and improvements in time to continously improve our measurement management system.
Management construction
The reason why the measurement management can provide accurate, timely and reliable data support for the enterprise is the continuous improvement and effective operation of our measurement system, as well as the internal audit of the measurement system annually. Xingtai Steel has 26 internal auditors for measurement system, who has been certified by China Certification Center for Metrology and Mesurement. Xingtai Steel conducts internal self-inspection on the operation of measurement system in 15 secondary units by means of monthly rolling audit and annual audit. 97 problems were found in the inspection in 2021. Through the correction and improvement of the existing problems, it not only improved the management skills of the personnel, but also ensured that the measurement system continued to meet the requirements of the certification standard. In the external audit in 2021, the experts gave a high evaluation to the operation of measurement management system. As the experts say, our management system fully meets each requirement of the management standard.
